Hawk HPS 5.0 Brake Pads (570)
Hawk’s HPS 5.0 pad is an updated compound based on their popular HPS pads. They produce less dust and noise than the OEM Pagid pads, and can handle occasional track duty. These are a great brake pad for people that drive aggressively, and for people that do a track day or two each year and don’t want to bother with dedicated track pads.
These are the pads I use on my daily-driven, supercharged 2007 V8 Vantage. They do have more brake dust than the Porterfield R4-S but I think it’s a reasonable amount, and the Hawk HPS 5.0 pads can handle abuse beyond the capabilities of the Porterfield R4-S. With proper installation and bedding-in, the HPS 5.0 does not squeal.
Sold as a set of four pads: two for each caliper, which is enough for both rear calipers.
I highly recommend only using matching brake pads. That is, if you need to replace your front pads and want to use a different type than the outgoing ones, you should replace all the pads with the same type, even if the rear pads are still okay.
CCM Rotors: These pads are not suitable for brakes with carbon/CCM rotors.
Wear Sensors: These brake pads do accommodate the brake pad wear sensors.
