Porterfield R4 Brake Pads (1001)
$250.00
These R4 pads are the racing version of Porterfield’s R4-S brake pads. The R4 pads are built to handle track duty and racing, but aren’t ideal for street driving. Yes, they can handle it and aren’t terrible when cold, but they do make a LOT of noise and dust!
The product image comparing the new R4 pad to the used R4-S pad shows show the complete lack of chamfering on the R4 pad. The chamfering ensures the R4-S pads are smooth and silent, but reduces the surface area of the pad. While this is design is ideal for street use, the reduced surface area limits this pad’s ability to handle track duty. The R4, on the other hand, sacrifices quiet road manners for outright braking performance by having a more aggressive pad compound and maximum surface area.

Important Notes
Sold as a set of four pads: two for each caliper, which is enough for both front or both rear calipers.
Click here for rear R4 brake pads for a 2005-2012 DB9 or V8 Vantage.
I highly recommend only using matching brake pads. That is, if you need to replace your OEM front pads and want to use the R4 pads, you should replace all the pads, even if the OEM rear pads are still okay.
CCM Rotors: These pads are not suitable for brakes with carbon/CCM rotors.
Wear Sensors: These brake pads do accommodate the brake pad wear sensors.
Fitment Guide
2005-2012 V8 Vantage and DB9, front*
2017+ DB11, non-CCM rotors, rear
2019+ Vantage, non-CCM rotors, rear
* 2012 was a transition year for the DB9 and V8 Vantage. The DB9 switched to a completely different braking system with CCM (carbon) rotors and the V8 Vantage switched to a 6-piston front brake system. In each of these cases, these brake pads are not suitable for cars with the updated brake systems.
